US Imports of Single Malt Scotch Whisky – what is all the fuss about?
In this article, we wanted to dig deeper into the Scotch whisky exports to the USA. In light of the impending government change and the looming spectre of trade tariffs, we wanted to look in detail at the evolution of single malt whisky exports into this critical market. If tariffs are brought back, it may help us understand what impact may be felt by the domestic industry here and how it might evolve.
The US market has long been the largest value market for Scotch whisky and remains incredibly important for volume. On this basis, we want to try and understand how things may change in 2025 and beyond, in light of the many other headwinds facing the global spirits industry.
