How big Is Scotch whisky and its production capacity?

After last week’s look into Irish whiskey and its current production capacity we wanted to take a similar look at Scotch. We utilised a similar methodology and also, after helpful feedback on our Irish article, looked at grain v malt spirit production.  More distillery capacity is being brought on for both categories via new build and expansion of existing facilities. However, we are aware of a slowdown in growth and some plans that are now on hold.  What does the future look like and when might this new capacity all be utilised?
